What impact has interviewing had on you?

Interviewing has totally shifted how I approach storytelling and research. When working on pieces like the recent news article covering algorithm fatigue, I realized that data and statistics will only go so far. While it does provide the necessary context, it doesn't add the human element. Speaking to sources helps me better understand what I'm writing about and gives me flexibility to adapt to the narrative on the fly. I have learned that asking the right questions can uncover entirely new stories and ideas that may have otherwise been overlooked. Because of this, I am a more empathetic listener and a more well-rounded writer.
